Bachelor of Theology Program Launches to Equip Future Ministry Leaders
Queens College of Theology has officially announced the launch of its Bachelor of Theology program, a comprehensive four-year degree designed to deepen students’ understanding of Christian theology while equipping them for impactful service in ministry, education, and leadership.
The new Bachelor of Theology program emphasizes spiritual growth, biblical scholarship, and practical ministry application, offering students the tools to interpret Scripture faithfully, engage thoughtfully with theological traditions, and apply Christian doctrine in real-world contexts.
“During the past 15 months, over a thousand hours have been spent developing the curriculum for this program. Research going into course development has encompassed reviewing and assessing over 10,000 pages of theological texts and almost 600 hours of video lectures, in addition to a cover-to-cover review of the entire Old and New Testament scriptures,” said Dr. Paul Cornell, Chair of Undergraduate Studies at Queens College of Theology. “Students can feel confident that the texts and videos selected for inclusion in these courses cover a comprehensive range of Christian historical and theological contexts, doctrinal viewpoints and perspectives, and ministry areas.”
Students will complete 120 credit hours across 40 courses, typically over four years of study. The curriculum includes foundational courses in theology, biblical studies, and ministry leadership, along with electives in theological research, and specialized ministry applications. Coursework incorporates reading Scripture and related texts, engaging with video lectures, writing assignments, online discussions, and hands-on ministry exercises.

Meeting a Growing Need in the Church
According to a study by the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University (Munsil, 2021), while nearly 70% of adults in the United States identify as Christian, only 6% demonstrate a biblical worldview. The Bachelor of Theology program at Queens College of Theology seeks to bridge this gap by helping believers build a strong theological foundation, enabling them to share their faith with clarity and confidence.
“Many Christians struggle to apply biblical truths to life’s challenges,” said Dr. Leftwich. “This program is designed to empower them to do just that—grounding their understanding in Scripture, growing their relationship with God, and advancing His Kingdom wherever they serve.”
Accessible and Affordable Christian Education
The Bachelor of Theology program is offered 100% online, providing flexibility for students balancing ministry, work, and family responsibilities. Tuition is designed to be accessible, with plans starting as low as $80 per month—ensuring that every called believer has the opportunity to pursue formal theological education without financial strain.
